Physical Therapist

Mrs. Modupe Adewunmi,as a young child, was strongly influenced by her parent’s faith and the Anglican Church where she gave her life to Christ as a teenager. Her upbringing instilledthe values of hard work, excellence, and caring for others. She graduated as a Physical Therapist from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, and was certified in cerebral palsy care at Bobbath Center, Britain. In 1991, she obtained her Masters degree from the University of Ibadan.

Mrs. Adewunmi started out practicing as a physical therapist at the General Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos before starting her clinic D-Two Physiotherapy Clinic when her family moved to Kaduna, Northern Nigeria. For 10 years, with prayers, dedication, and a relentless focus on patient care, D-Two Physiotherapy set the gold standard for clinics in the country. In 1995, Mrs. Adewunmi made the difficult choice to leave her home country to continue her practice in the United States, where she still practices.

During her university years, she met her future husband, Rt. Rev (Ret.) Dr. Adedokun Adewunmi, whois a physician and an Anglican priest. Together they have built a life focused on faith, family, and community. In 1986, while raising threechildren and managing her clinic, Mrs. Adewunmi became a Priest’s wife upon the ordination of her husband in the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. She continues to work tirelessly beside her husband building an impactful ministry, having played a major role in establishing the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion in the USA and the while continuing to practice as a physical therapist.

Mrs. Adewunmi has always been passionate about health care. She is a fierce supporter of the underprivileged and feels blessed to have influenced the physical and spiritual health of many. She accomplishes all this with little fanfare, typically shying away from the spotlight. Prayerfully led, she continues to use her skills, network, and platform to make a difference. The numerous challenges confronting our medical services in Nigeria prompted her to co-found the Grace and Manna,Inc–a non-profit organizationwhich providesfree/subsidized medical and pharmaceutical services to the needy in Nigeria.

Mrs. Adewunmi is the author of ‘Life is Fragile, Handle with Prayer’. All proceeds of the book go to support Grace and Manna,Inc.

Dr. Oladipo Oyefusi

PHD ECONOMIES

As a PhD economist by profession, Dr. Oladipo Oyefusi has had a successful professional career for over 40 years, 25 of which was with AT&T Services, Inc where he retired in December 2023 as Director, Federal Regulatory. While at AT&T he advocated, before state regulatory agencies and the Federal Communication Commission, favorable communications policies and also made meaningful impacts on the society. His most impactful accomplishment on the society is the initiative to improve the National Broadband map for the entire United States. His collaborative effort with other team of experts led to the enactment of the Broadband Data Act which mandated the Federal Communication Commission to develop a map, based on Dr. Oyefusi’s 2018 proposal, to ensure all living units in the United States are connected to the internet. That map is now a reality, and Congress has mandated that all agencies must rely on it to distribute public funds for broadband expansion to the unserved/underserved areas. Past and present professional association memberships include: American Economic Association and Federal Communications Bar Association.

During these times, Dr. Oyefusi has supported several philanthropic causes with both time and money. Here are some examples: Lupus Foundation, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Purple Heart Foundation, Doctors without Borders, American Veterans (AMVETS), RSS Alumni Association North America, CHS Alumni Association North America, Molusi College Alumni Association North America. Dr. Oyefusi is a founding member of RSS Alumni Association North America. He was the first President of the organization and served for multiple terms totaling ten years. During his ten-year reign as President, the organization supported the school in many ways, including donating computers and books to Remo Secondary School (RSS), Sagamu Nigeria and replacing the roof on one of the largest buildings on RSS campus.

Dr. Oyefusi started his faith journey (from birth) while his parents were attending an Anglican Church, The Cathedral of St. James The Great, Oke-Bola, Ibadan Nigeria, and later at St. Annes Church Molete, Ibadan, Nigeria. After coming to the United States he worshipped at other churches until 1999 when his family joined First United Methodist Church (FUMC), Hyattsville, Maryland where he currently serves the Lord in multiple capacities; e.g. Finance Committee Chairman, United Methodist Men (UMM) Secretary, African Heritage Group Financial Secretary, and he sings Bass in the Chancel choir at FUMC.

However, his service to God is not confined to any particular physical church building. While still active at FUMC, he served God at All Saints Anglican Church, Hyattsville, MD, between 2019 and 2023, and he’s currently doing the same at the Anglican Church of The Messiah, Beltsville, MD, as the Rector’s Warden, and a chorister.

Dr. Oyefusi is married to Phebean, and their marriage has been blessed with two brilliant and successful children who have been raised to follow God’s path.
